It may sound oxymoronic, but peace studies majors — or at least the ones who don’t take their education for granted — wage war daily. Against inequality. Against abuse. Against violence. Against injustice. But successfully, such a broad concept requires intensive research and field work, not just waving a few dove-splashed signs around and calling it a day. An effective peace studies student is devoted to educating her- or himself on all the different subjects that filter into the classroom.
